Free Assistive Technology Resources for Current Students
The Counseling Center, Disability Services, and Health Services office would like to inform you / remind you of the current assistive technology programs offered and available to current students.
Assistive technology (also called adaptive technology) refers to any product, device, or equipment used to maintain, increase, or improve the functional capabilities of individuals with disabilities. Common computer-related assistive technology products include screen magnifiers, alternative input devices such as touch screen displays, speech recognition programs, and text readers.
Students may use assistive technology for a variety of reasons. A student may find assistive technology resources helpful, even if they do not identify as a student with a documented disability. (i.e. TextHelp- Read&Write is predominately a reading software program, but the program has helpful writing resources and can also be used to support a student with organizing their class notes). Students can visit the Disability Services website to download and access the available free assistive resources.
Please feel free to share this information with your students.
